"At the very least, do no harm." Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology, a non-medical, traditional approach to alleviating chronic disorders fulfills the goals of alternative and complementary medicine. Two thirds of participants report significant improvement from chronic disorders with an average duration of 14 years. Fulfilling the goals of alternative medicine: safe, effective, non-interventionist relief.Nature's hierarchical structure involves the emergence of wholeness at each level of organization. This wholeness is irreducible to the constituent parts of which it is composed. So the human body cannot be fully comprehended in terms of molecular biology. Modern medicine, with its emphasis on pharmaceutical and surgical interventions, tends to be disruptive of the body's natural harmony, hence the dramatic turn to alternative and complementary approaches in recent times. Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology"I went into the Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology consultation as a last resort, resigned to live with pain and numbness in the hips and thigh caused by a back injury. I had resigned myself to a life of rest and sitting with little possibility for dynamic activity. I had resigned from living life fully. "My first session was a wonderfully nourishing and blissful experience that produced immediate results. I realize that not everyone will have the same inner experience during their consultation, but many are enjoying similar results in activity. "During the consultation, I first noticed a soft, pulsating, warm milky light, somewhat like the feel of a cashmere blanket on a cold drafty night, covering my lower legs. It began in the ankles and then moved up to encompass the whole lower body and torso. "With the consultation, and the resulting enthusiasm and ability to be dynamic once again, I feel happier and more a part of the pace of normal life. Deep within, I know that I can remember normal functioning. I definitely recommend this for anyone who may be in a similar situation." --From Regaining the Memory of Normal Functioning by Theresa Olson, Ph.D. Read more experiences of people who have found relief.According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), complementary and alternative medicine is defined as "those treatments and health care practices not taught widely in medical schools, not generally used in hospitals, and not usually reimbursed by medical insurance companies." Nearly half of all Americans seek alternative medical treatment at least once a year, usually paying for it out-of-pocket. In response to this public demand, the NIH established an Office of Alternative Medicine, which was upgraded last year to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine with grant-making authority and a yearly budget of $68 million. Complementary and traditional health practices include therapeutic methods which emphasize a holistic approach, considering the whole person in the healing process, including the mental, emotional, spiritual and environmental aspects and how these relate to an individual's physical well-being. For example, Maharishi Vedic Vibration Technology utilizes a traditional approach to healing, according to which specific mantras or sounds from the ancient Vedic literature are applied in an established manner to enliven the body's inner intelligence. Through a tender impulse of Vedic vibration, pain can be transformed into a feeling of pleasantness and abnormality can be transformed into normal physiological functioning. An important part of the holistic approach involves wellness and disease prevention, with an emphasis on safety first. Conventional medical practice, by contrast, is coming under increasing scrutiny because of the associated risks, side-effects and hazards of pharmaceutical and surgical interventions.
